How to Create or Modify a Customized Dashboard

To modify or create an additional dashboard for the purpose of keeping your two stores or warehouses separate, and to separate your data or reports, follow these steps:

Navigate to the “Products” page from the left side menu

Click on the “+” sign located at the top to add a new dashboard, or “Customize” to modify the existing dashboard.

Write the name of your new Dashboard in the respective column. Now you can select which items you want to see in the visible column and which items you want in the hidden column. This can be done by clicking on the arrow.

If you want to see this dashboard as a default, check “Default view”.

Choose “default filter setting” according to your requirements.

Click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen.

You are all set on your new dashboard.

Is There a Maximum Amount of SKUS to Upload with a CSV?

The maximum amount to upload at once is 5,000 SKUs. But if your Product information file just has the SKUs on it (without any additional data) the system can accommodate up to 10,000 SKUs.

Cost Price Not Showing on Reports

Have you attempted to edit the cost price of your products, or on a purchase order but noticed that the changes are not being reflected in the system?

The most probable reason for the lack of update is that our system is configured to automatically update costs for the past 30 days only. Any cost changes beyond that timeframe needs to be updated manually from the back-end.

If you need to update the cost prices for a date that is 30 days or more in the past, please contact our support team at support@inventoryahead.com. We will assist you in updating the information from the backend.

Special Character SKUs

When product SKUs are imported with special characters, Inventory Ahead/marketplace may not be able to read them, causing them not to appear on the website.

Here is the link to the tool that will remove special characters from your SKUs before importing them.

Differences Between Location Types On A Warehouse

There are three location types for a warehouse at Inventory Ahead.

Type #1: Address

Type #2: Warehouse

Type #3: 3’rd Party Warehouse

Below is an explanation of the differences between these location types.

Type #1: Address

The provided address is solely for reference purposes and does not correspond to an actual warehouse. Tracking inventory at this location is not possible. If you utilize this address for customer orders or FBA shipments, it will appear on the label, but inventory deductions will be made from a different warehouse.

Type #2: Warehouse

This warehouse serves as the primary location for inventory tracking. Here, you will receive purchase orders, fulfill customer orders, and manage your FBA shipments.

Type #3: 3’rd Party Warehouse

The third-party warehouse option is utilized when an external company stores your inventory. When an order is received, the 3rd Party warehouse will fulfill and dispatch the order from their own warehouse.

How To Set Up Inventory Rules

Inventory rules are implemented for Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) products, ensuring automatic updates of your warehouse inventory across assigned marketplaces. Whenever a sale takes place on an assigned store, the inventory of all other assigned stores will be synchronized accordingly. Below, you will find a comprehensive step-by-step guide on creating your inventory rules.

Navigate to the “Inventory Rules” on the settings page.

Select “Add new rule”.

Enter a rule name.

Now, you can choose the warehouse from the dropdown menu that specifies where your inventory will be reported to the marketplace.

Assign to one or multiple stores or select all.

You have the option to enter a maximum quantity (optional) at this stage. By specifying a maximum quantity, the system will report your inventory up to the chosen limit.

To avoid overselling, you can select the “Favorite Store Settings” option. This step is optional but highly recommended. By entering your favorite store and setting a threshold amount, you can establish a safeguard against overselling.

When this setting is enabled, once your local inventory reaches the threshold amount you have set, your inventory will be exclusively available in your favorite store. All other stores will display the inventory as out of stock. To finalize the rule, please select “Save Rule.”

How do I connect my Amazon store?

After logging into your account, Navigate to the settings page.

On the settings page, select “Selling Channels”

Click “Add channel”

On the next page, click “Add” on the desired Amazon channel

Complete the information on the following page and click the “Connect” button to establish the connection for your store. For further clarification on the fields present on the store connection page, you can click here to access an explanation.

Upon clicking the “Connect” button, an Amazon popup window will appear. Please scroll down to the bottom of the window and click the checkbox to authorize Amazon to grant access to Inventory Ahead. Finally, click the “Confirm” button to proceed.

A success message will pop up that your store has been connected and you are all done!

Please note: It may take up to 24 hours for all the data from your store to be fully imported into Inventory Ahead.
