How to update the cost on your products

There are two options on how to update the cost for your items:

Option 1: Update Cost for an Individual product.

Option 2: Update Cost in bulk.

Update Cost for an Individual product:

Navigate to the Inventory tab. Click on the ellipses on the right-hand side of the item you wish to update, and click ‘Edit’.

On the following ‘Edit’s Page’, you have some options:

  1. Enter a cost price with a corresponding date. This date can be backdated to the desired starting point for calculating the cost.
  2. Additionally, you can also add a shipping cost as well as any additional fees.
  3. You also have the option to add as many costs, with different dates or different suppliers.

Keep in mind: If you choose a date which is backdating to 30 or more days ago, please reach out to support for us to update the costs from the backend. For more information, see here.

Once done, click ‘Save’ on the bottom of the page.

Update Costs in bulk:

Navigate to the Inventory tab. Click on the ‘up arrow’ at the top right-hand corner.

  • At the bottom of the page, you will find the option to download the “product information” sample template.
  • Select the template and download it.
  • The key information required to update the cost includes the SKU, Price, and Shipping price. If you wish to backdate the price, you can also select the Price Date column and specify the desired date (by default, it is set to today’s date). You can delete all other columns in the template.
  • Enter the required information, ensuring that you do not include dollar symbols.
  • Finally, save the file as a CSV format.

Back to Inventory Ahead, select ”update products” and under ‘Data type’ select “Products Information”.

  • Drop file or click on browser to select the file.
  • Map the correct fields.
  • Once all looks ok, click “confirm update”.
  • You’re all set!
